Where to meet other Christians

Q. Hey Vanae. I am a fairly shy guy, and I would like to know what would you recommend I do to really come out of my shell so to speak. I am also a christian, be nice to meet some other people that share my beliefs.

I get a fair amount of email from people who are shy and want to do something about it. I wrote this effective article on identifying the root of your shyness and how to overcome it. It’s important to understand why you’re shy. Not that being shy is not a bad thing, but you’ll benefit more in society. If you have social skills, you are able to carry conversations with people, initiate, relate and build connections with others. This will improve your social, work and school life.

Now, to find other Christians, I would recommend:

1. Meeting females who attend your church
2. Join a local Christian group OR group on Meetup.com
3. Christian dating sites

One of the best tips I’ve ever gotten for meeting women and diving into the dating world is just to lead an interesting life. Do things you wouldn’t normally do but for the story. Think sorta like Jim Carey’s “Yes Man”. I’ll second the Meetup.com suggestion above, it works in my area. And also, when you start doing things just for the story when you finally find a good girl, you’ll have plenty to talk about!

I’m not much for christianity but I don’t believe it’s a sin in any way to try rock climbing…or snow boarding…or surfing…or sky diving. I’ve only done the first two but those also make fun first dates if you’re into the active types….Life is good.
