With no clouds in the sky, she walks aimlessly through the busy streets of downtown, in her favorite red sweater. She feels lonely in a crowded place. She’s been thinking about him, the guy who suddenly just disappeared with no reason, no letter, no phonecall.
except leaving one sweet kiss behind, in which she forever remembers, for it was the sweetness of his personailty that she can never forget… now open the gate cause here come the horses!
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Her hand quickly hits the ’snooze button’ on the alarm clock as it was a natural reflex of waking up. She realizes she fell asleep as she was on twitter tweeting about She had once promised that she wouldn’t get caught in the craze of twitter but these days twitter has become her reality. Her mind is filled with broken dreams and her heart is heavy but she can only find solace within the obisque of cyberspace. She looks at the clock and feels a pang of anxiety because She knows this is just another day she has to fight to keep her smile on. To hide the tears and make those she loves think she is doin ok… but in reality she is afraid of joining the cast of clowns who hide behind their masks. For once she wants something real, something real to feel. She wants to head out in the world and show the world that she is longer afraid, no longer afraid to show her true feelings. She is a dam waiting to burst who can’t decided between chasing the love of her life or wanting to head to the nearest bakery. Damn, she has to watch her caloric intake otherwise she may regain the muffin top that she had taken an entire summer to rid herself of.
Meanwhile, her ex-significant other lets out a sigh as the song “Wandering” by Ben Folds begins playing on the radio. He is nearly moved to tears and wishes that they were back at Disneyland on that warm summer night watching Tinkerbelle fly accross the sky followed by the fireworks. Today is a new day, we can start over again or will it be fruitless and a waste of time. She is probably thinking deeply about a feeling she can’t really place her finger on.. something subtle yet powerful growing in the depths of her soul, reaching out through the murky waters of her past into the light of this new day.
It’s a feeling that reminds her of an old friend, and yet, she can’t escape the sensation that the last time they saw each other was lifetimes ago.
“What would I have been, in a past life” she laughingly wonders..
She settles on the idea that she must have been a beautiful butterfly. Free, airborne, and a creature of metamorphosis.
A thought strikes her like a ray of sunlight through a shy window curtain opening, the kind that forms when someone hastily closes the shades before rushing out a room never to come back. Then she looks off into the distance, like she always does when her mind tugs this gently at her hand.
“I think you forgot something” it says to her, softly.
“Oh?” she replies back. “It can’t be that important, if I can’t remember it at the moment. I’m sure it will come back to me soon.”
She gets dressed and heads outside to clear her head and shake off her own thoughts. Outside it’s colder than she was expecting, but somehow it feels good.
She passes by a homeless woman humming to herself, and realizes, it’s actually the most beautiful, painful, heart gripping melody she’s ever heard in all her years of life. She asks the stranger if donations are accepted, and the woman nods a slow, almost acquiescent nod to accept the $10 contribution. The homeless woman continues to sing as if she never passed by.
It starts to rain, but the sun is still out. She hails a cab, yet suddenly remembers how alive the rain makes her feel, and so tells the confused driver to instead go on without her. The cab driver watches her walk away, puts his hand out the window the feel the rain on his outstretched arm, and drives away.
She decides to get in a little later to work, and takes a detour to a small, old-looking park she’s passed by for years but never got around to visiting. The rains slowed down a bit by now, but still falls enough to make the garden leaves come alive with movement around her. She watches them dance, until her right hand moves of its own accord to cup the rainwater that falls from a patch of neighboring orange tree leaves. She lets the water fall from her hand, but more leaves dance in the way and catch the water before it can hit the earth.
The smell of green life engulfs her, and in that moment, she realizes what she’s forgotten.
It’s her birthday. She’s forgotten her own birthday! And they are throwing a party for her at work! She looks at her watch and realizes, everyone’s been waiting for her for the past 90 minutes. A glance at her phone reveals why she hasn’t been called yet- the batteries have run out.
She races out the garden in the rain, leaving behind the stillness she found among the trees, wondering if she’ll ever pass this way again. if she will ever see him again … , suddenly , the door knocks , but it wasn’t him it was a FedEX delivery man with an on-time overnight delivery package. She signs for the box and the street where she is strolling right now was familiar. Yes..she recalled. Two years ago… this was the place where he sudden released her hand, telling her a cruel fact that he had chosen another woman, whom more suitable than her as his life partner.
She knows that she had left with no choice, but to fulfil his wish. She chose to let go of him because she really love him. She understood that a true love may take to sacrifice, not a self possession. A true love must never be selfish. From her bottom of her broken heart, She can only sincerely wish the man to be happy forever with his new found love. She made such decision because she truely love him…such love..as clear as crystal, as pure as gold, and as true as her own innocent nature.
Today, there is no cloud in the sky. However, there is always a sun hanging up there. She understand…there is always a hope waiting for her, a hope which can be as bright as sun, hanging in the cloudless sky. Her life will goes on but deep down she hopes that he’ll feel it when she digs her nails on someone else’s back!
he desire is a futile one and she knows that she would take a bullet through the heart before she could ever harm him. She has spent many conflicted nights engulfed by tortured dreams.
Always the same dream. She lays upon her bed. Her eyes closed. The world within her mind is surreal. She air around her is frigid and cold. The atmosphere is shrouded in a thick heavy cloud. She looks in every direction trying to leave the confines of this unnatural darkness but she can never seem to find her way. Just as she begins to lose all sense of her surrounding somehow he appears to her. He doesn’t say a word. Just stands there silently, with a smile stretched across his lips. He looks directly at her and she can feel a slight throbbing in her chest. She can’t move. All her senses have been disabled by that look in his eyes. She is strong and yet it seems that one look from him is enough to cause her to lose all control. ‘I love you” he whispers softly. She can feel herself melting at his words. “This is all wrong. You’re not real” She wants to say but there is a passion within her that is unquenchable, a burning desire that surges through her with such an intensity. He has said three words to her and every memory of him has been evoked. She reaches out to stroke his cheek with her fingers. No sooner has her hand reached his face and then she awakens from the dream. With this awakening he is gone. She feels as if the air has been removed and she can’t possibly breath. She calls out his name but she knows that he cannot possibly hear her. She knows that while she has dreamed of him in a phantom vision… he is lying asleep in the arms of another woman. Another woman who may touch his cheek. Lay her head against his chest and feel his heart beat. Look into his eyes and see only unfailing love and devotion. Another woman who may enjoy the tender moments of adoration when He will whisper he loves her and tells her that he desires to be with no other. She knows that she has lost him and that thought is more than her heart can bare.
The streets are crowded and he has his briefcase in one hand and his favorite double scoop ice cream cone in the other. Hes late for the meeting and quickly turns around to hail a taxi. They run into each other and the ice cream goes plop onto her foot. He gets down on one knee to get the ice cream off her foot with a napkin. She takes her shoe off because the cold ice cream is starting to run between her toes and watches this man cleaning her foot in the middle of the sidewalk apoligizing for the mishap. He finishes and stands up and sees the red sweater and looks into her eyes to see her for the first time and they both smile as they realize the situation. As they look at each other he feels the slightest tingle like electricity in his stomach. Can this be happening on a busy street at noontime? He wonders if she felt anything so they both speak at the same time and When they started the speak, the sky is darken and it rain, they both didn’t bring an umbrella so they both rushes into a mall and continue their conversation in a coffee shop. They both realized they ordered the same drink, dark berry mocha, they start drinking and as they speak, the waitress come and unspeakable silence between the two budding lovers, the waitress turns to another table. “So dark berry mocha huh?” he said. Blushing away from his gaze, she replies “yeah, it’s my favorite.” Silence follows until it was broken by a clattering of empty coffee mugs from an adjacent table. He knows he must act now or lose her forever. The first thing that came to his mind was If he didn’t tell her exactly how he felt, he might loose her, forever.
The words curled at the very cusp of his tongue, yearning to say the words, he couldn’t bring himself to do it, cowardice, he backs down, and pauses, he starts to sweat, she looks at him in wonder with what she might have possibly done wrong, and takes charge, not thinking about how he may feel, or how he may react, she looks him directly in the eyes, with a lustful glare, and in a sultry voice whispers “i love you, i can’t live without you”. He then grabs her supple pale cheeks of nervousness and kisses her, she can’t help but to kiss him back.
Without paying attention, she dropped her dark berry mocha, and it splashes upon is ironed clean pants, shocking him, breaking up the kiss, she feels terrible, and wonders if he feels the same, or if he is going to use her, he looks up with a painful look from the cold beverage that had been spilled upon him, and says the words, “i’ve always loved you, since the day i met you.”
she begins to blush, and cool down to reality from her exciting moment, and they left the restaurant forgetting to pay the bill. As they walked out and into the rest of the mall, they conversed about what they both were really like, her clumsy, goofy, and loved to have fun, yet a nerd and enjoyed learning, him, fun and clumsy as well, he loved to take adventures, and had always dreamed of sky diving, and he was intelligent, they had more in common then they both imagined, so they decided to go on a date, to go skydiving together and the jump is arranged on a beautiful clear day. JUMP, JUMP, JUMP, woohoo! the wind rushes past and a rush-of- blood-to-the head kicks in as adrenalin pumps. oddly the feeling lasts and tingles like the sweet nectar of two lovers intertwined in a pent up public frenzy. yet unable to Soaring through the air they catch a miraculous view of the coastline. Upon their descent they share a short kiss and touch down on the soft grass. They bid farewell to the diving team and thank them for a an epic dive.
Together they hop in His car and head off down the 101. They catch a glimpse of a billboard that says “Palm Reading, Care to Know?”
Without hesitations they make their way to visit Mrs.Roe, the palm reading gypsy up town When they arrive at the shoty storefront in the upscale neighborhood, Mrs Roe looks at the couple with a look of hopefully remorse and invites them into the windowless back room where they are greeted by a Gremlin….no no no…I mean he looked like a Gremlin. now before this story gets any weirder. I would like to point out my part in the story. I’m the narrator. Hello. The sadly yet happily friend who has been listening to this girl’s story every night at starbucks. Its bittersweet but i do it. If you alredy guessed; I’m just a crushee… kinda like an employee except i’m paid everytime my eyes catch hers.you know. aha. anyways this story is not as easliy readable or predictable as you may think. Because let me just say that “love” works exactly the same way.And if you think this story is going to be something that is just another “unique” love story- like they all are- let me just say you would be wrong. So back to the Gremlin. I mean the man who looked like a Gremlin; who is actually my boss down at Best Buy were I work part time… Sits in the chair in this unnaturally sphered room with no windows. “Good evening my name is Mr.Continuity and I enjoy my sphered room but it is absolute hell trying to find the fracking door to get out of here.” Before Mr. Continuity came aboard the Battlestar Galactica his grandfather would tell him stories about his time on earth at Best Buy in the good old sphered room so he recreated it all on the hologram deck. Meanwhile back at Mrs. Roes store the wormhole shifted and our couple leave the store and get back in the car and go to…
