Yesterday, I went to a very cool event on NASA Moffett Field campus called the Convergence Cafe. It was a ‘world cafe’ style event that brought people from different backgrounds to have very meaningful conversations. One of the questions that was asked was ‘How do you contribute to this thriving, living world?’
We don’t get to hear or asked valuable questions like these in our daily lives. So I thought it was a great question to pose to you, to think about our place in this world and how proactive we are.
My answer is: My contribution to this world is being a happy human to empower others for exponential positivity and awareness. My purpose of coaching is to open up minds, empower people for balance and happiness so they can create positive energy for themselves and others. – Really living the life we were meant to live!
Your turn: ‘How do you contribute to this thriving, living world?’

I have been lucky enough to be an integral part in several non-profit organizations and have found that even things that seem insignificant to you, make a sometimes HUGE impact on those around you. With that said, I try to pay attention to the little things I can do each day to make someone else’s day a little easier, a little brighter. In addition to giving my time to non-profits I am still involved with in the community… My little things would include noticing if someone could use a hand, a child that needs a smile and acknowledgement, a service employee who looks to feel under appreciated that I can say “Thank you” to genuinely, a homeless person who just needs a smile and a listening ear, or maybe just an old-fashioned hug. They are pretty magic. =0)
that’s super awesome jonesy! which non profits do you work with?
Unfortunately, I don’t anymore. I used to be a singles minister, and contribute alot, arranging
and hosting singles activities, working in a soup kitchens feeding the homeless, volunteering for a church television ministry, but I had so many people that I thought were my friends, screw me over in so many ways. I now have serious trust issues. So now I’m just a hermit.
hey ronnie,
sounds like you did lots of great things back then. i know we mentioned about trust, bitterness and addressing these areas.
i think you’d totally benefit from coaching or therapy to overcome this and lead the social life you once did before
=)
Thank you for your reply Vanae.I was angry at first, but, I took a day or four to think about what you said. Now, I TOTALLY agree,
I really do need coaching and therapy. The problem is I just can’t afford it. I really wish I could be like most guys I know,(i.e. Anon); not give a crap about anything for longer than ten minutes and get over it,or
at least put up a good front.
With my busy schedule, I raise money for AIDS walk every year. It only takes a little effort to call everyone on my cell phone contacts to ask if they can donate a little. This leads to close to a $1,000. FYI…AIDS walk San Francisco is on Sunday July 19,2009.. Everyone should come out!!! =D
thanks great JD! my non profit participated in the AIDS Walk for years!
I wish you much sunshine and great times for the walk!
A happy human is a very rare thing indeed. I am a happy human. My head is quiet, my stomach is calm, I fall asleep quickly and wake up happy and optomistic almost every day. I try to live in the moment and be nice to people even if they don’t have that comming. Thanks for your encouragement. Now how are you doing today?
hey martin,
you know you’re in a good spot when you’re body is calm and at peace with yourself.
i’m doing really great! getting prepared (mentally, suitcase packing) for Costa Rica.
=)
rather than finding a job, I find volunteer work especially ones where I can work with children. because I still live with my family I’m being provided for and don’t really need a job, still I need to keek myself busy and I need t feel appy about what I do, so volunteer work is awesome!
ah, what type of volunteer work did you do? would love to hear all about it.
and thanks for volunteering.
