GAME DAE WEDNESDAE!

tell your friends

Game Dae Wednesdae: Say YES!

You know the movie, Yes Man!
Recently, my friend and I had a great conversation about this…all the wonder and opportunities that life offers. Time to live it up!

Game Dae Wednesdae:
The next 3 questions people ask you do to something, say.. YES!

and come back to this post and share what you did! It’ll be really interesting to see the randomness what we all open up to!

Here’s mine so far:

1. Yes- to playing GUITAR HERO at the Movie Theatre arcade while waiting for THE HANGOVER to start. First time playing, first time rockin’ the biznatch!

2. Yes- to dipping my homemade chocolate chip cookie into chicken soup. I know. That sounds really weird, but my friend asked me to try this and it turned out pretty good. Strange combo, but good. =)

I try to say YES to whatever the universe brings my way, everyday! Sometimes it takes me on some pretty wild adventures… Today, so far… I got to have precious moments with someone I love (instead of rushing off to work) when they asked me for a few more minutes… Then, once I arrived at work I was asked if I could drive to Peet’s for a coffee… YES!? haha That got me a free Mocha Freddo, YUM! and now… here I am clicking on a link that says “Try this” off of Facebook. and it asked me to take a moment to share some of my YESes from the day… inspired by one of my favorite recent movies.

Jim Carrey is GREAT! I love his energy & freeness!

WOOHOO – Have a GREAT day everyone!

I’m already a Yes Man… Was a bit inspired by the movie and after reading the book that it was based on by Danny Wallace. So far i’ve only met interesting people, volunteered for random events and traveled to several states within the last few months. It definitely has been quite an adventure… we’ll see what are the next things i say yes to…

I remember watching Larry King Live when Jim Carrey was talking about the movie. He said when you say yes, you have to say yes to your self worth. So saying no to certain to things would be saying yes to your self worth and well being.. Here’s an exaggerated example.. you can say no, to some asking you to do something dangerous to yourself and at the same time saying yes to yourself.

I wrote my college thesis on James Joyce, whose ULYSSES ends with a chapter full of yesses spoken by the original Yes Woman, Molly Bloom. Her openness to the magical world of Dublin is an unqualified final statement about engaging life fully.

Theres several things that really ride my nerves.
One which consists of SOMEONE reading over my shoulder when Im on the computer. Since my sister has read this, now I have to buy her Mc. Donalds. Thanks Vanae.
P.S. The nearest Mc. Donalds is approximately 22 miles from here.

    • Vanae says:

the bright side is you have 22 miles to bond with your sister =)

then get fries and a hamburger. after

      thanks for sharing, angel!

  7. Wissam says:

    okay will start now…
I am waiting for you to ask me out vanae, so I can say yes :P .
when I go to SF that is, or when you pop up in montreal after I move there :P .

    • Vanae says:

      cute.

i don’t think i’ll be heading to montreal soon..so i guess you’ll have to come to SF.

are you going to the workshop in august??
      V

      • Wissam says:

no I would still be in Edinburgh in august.
I am crossing the ocean end of september/beginning October.
maybe a bit later, depending what I kind of job I find.
will make sure you know when I am going to the states, since I would have to go to L.A. and visit family there :) .

  8. Jonsi says:

I said yes to doing some breakdancing moves in the parking lot after go-karting with my date yesterday. And when she demurely asked me “do you want to come in here with me?” in reference to washing the pavement off my hands afterward in the women’s restroom of Starbuck’s because the men’s room was occupied, I said “HELLS YES.”

  9. Tim says:

Saying yes is the #1 rule in doing improv. While I doubt that it will lead to an opportunity performing at Second City, it will make life more fun for everyone.

  10. Marc says:

    ok here’s my three yes’s:

    1. I answered the phone at work, the person on the other line was looking for my supervisor and asked me if I was him and I said “yes”….so then I got bombarded with rants about inaccuracies regarding monthly reports……

    2. I co-worker, whom I despise asked me to help her with her report, of course i said yes…..now I hate her even more.

    3. Another co-worker asked if I could cover her for an “extended lunch” …..I said yes.

This has not been fun at all =( !

  11. martin says:

This was kind of fun except I lost count so I did more yes things.
    1. put away chairs for a lady after a conference.
    2. told my sister I will send her more money.
    3. gave a friend a ride to his house by LAX
4.agreed to participate in a video-conference sales deal for a half hour.
    5. forwarded a chain email which I usually don’t do.

Everything came out good which was a pleasant surprise. Nice floating photo! So I am going to say yes to some things I would usually say no to and see what happens.

  12. joshrush says:

hey vanae when you postin yours up

  13. Camellia says:

Yes to teaching a music class to a group of adults.
The students were at least a good 10-15 years older than me so that was kind of cool.
