Game Dae is coming a bit early this week, as I compose an article on the 3rd anniversary of Vanae.com.
Did I ever mention that Passion Pit and Phoenix are epic roadtrip music?! Something about driving a straight road, sun beaming and rows of trees aligned on your side, driving towards a majestic mountain….rocking Phoenix music. It’s like you’re in a music video…or even better, this is the soundtrack of your life.
So now, whenever I heard Phoenix music, I think of the fantabulous RV roadtrip to Disneyland for my bday and my most recent roadtrip to Portland & Seattle with my awesome cousin, Viet.
Life is made of magical moments like these.
I want to know…what’s your favorite roadtrip music?
PS- Didn’t think a band could conjure up so many good memories. As I was going through Phoenix’s new and old tracks on YouTube, I came across this song…I’d like to dedicate ‘If I ever feel better’ by Phoenix to BT (my ex) and very good friend today. Heart of Gold. Lover of Music. He inspired me to embrace my voice, style and music. Always be thankful for those who made an impact on your life – large or small.
OOOH! Definitely gotta toss “Bohemian Like You” by the Dandy Warhols in that mix. Best road trip song ever. For that matter, the remix (played during this vid) is pretty awesome to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnIXCUgC8vc
If you like the remix, I think it’s a mash up of the above song and “I’m Horny” by Mousse T.
Pretty much anything by Tenacious D, who i know people don’t take seriously but Jack Black is a very talented vocalist an Kyle Gass is probably the best acoustic guitarist around.
Depends, Am I alone?
What’s my mood?
where I am going?
1-If I am driving to vent off then its Metallica
2-If I am driving slowly on country roads, alone. Something like Rock bluesy or Electric Guitar focus (Satriani/ Petrucci)
3-If I am thinking and driving very slowly, some ambiant chillout music.
4-If I am with a group and its my car, depends on what people want to listen to, Except pop! sorry no pop would enter my car.
Another Travelin’Song by Bright Eyes. From the name of the song, it seems like an obvious choice. And it is beautiful, just not very light.

Butch Walker!!! That’s all I have to say!
Love driving towards sunsets and sunrises to Explosions in The Sky’s – Your Hand in Mine
Amazing, I was just listening to If I Ever Feel Better. I also thought of someone when I heard it — not my ex, but a person I am going to meet very soon in the future.
Love your site, Vanae!
