Hey doll,

The article is rather humorous to me. We have to consider the fact that times have changed dramatically since the 60s everywhere, not just the "western" world. Back then, most women didn't have a career, so their main focus was family. I honestly think that housewives in that era took the advice to heart because that was the world they knew.

With the exception of the word "obey" (LOL), I don't think the article is too bad for/at the time it was published. I can't imagine taking it seriously if it were to be printed today.

Your comment suggests similar opinion to mine about women & how they utilize their role in society. Being they have the higher end of the responsibility & dangers of being life givers &/or sustaining the population.

That definitely comes with "perks" & benefits; but it "runs all over me" when women use "kids" as means of gaining money &/or negatively affecting men in divorce & break ups.

These females spend more time finding out all the legislation they can utilize to be an annoyance in society rather than focusing on & reaping the pride of putting a great child in society.

I'm not discounting state programs; but their are collective groups who focus on negatively affecting society by high birth rates & low attitudes.

This is off subject, but I couldn't resist.

I think it is SO WRONG to just assume the husband will fall promptly asleep after some heavy congressing!

...the good wife should asketh if perhaps a sandwich and a crisp lager or ale is desireth.

And if not... then silence.

In other words, a woman's place is in the kitchen and in the bedroom.

This was true when the man's place was in the coal mine.

It was fair and necessary.

Today, the story is different in first world countries.

To put it explicitly, in the words of a forgotten blogger, "today, women have half the money and all the pussy."

The sexes are not balanced. Back then the woman needed the money so she took part in her duty. Today, she doesn't need the money but the guy still needs the sex.

There is no bargaining power because women have the upper hand-- and the upper cut.

Remember years back when that Ecuadorian woman cut off a man's penis in America? Well, she got off scott free because female power in the USA is overwhelming for the everyday man. If that would have happened in any other country she would have done some hard time.

The stage is now set for a new paradigm in sexual relationships. The one that will promote health, good will and PEACE to the world.

But that will take a tremendous effort in women. It will mean seeing past their selfishness and once again return dignity, honor and respect to a man's sexuality.

I remind you that this is for the common man--not enlightened ones.

Enlightened men can be satisfied with one woman in internal truth which means that he can restrain from even THINKING about other women.

If a man thinks about another woman during sex with "his" woman than that is worse than actually 'cheating'.

Duty is higher and more honorable than love.

Today that duty has reached a new plateau.

YOU (as a woman) have to climb the ladder.

Thatz a conversation piece if I have ever seen one.

Marriage is part of religion; that spans into personal & public business.

If a female was to do all that for me, I'm sure I would be considerate, responsive, & return affections.

However, this constant routine & compliance with other's instruction on how to be a wife would spark discussion, debate, & possibly an argument. My point would be that I married you, & not marriage; hypothetically speaking.

I expect alot of things if I am ever to be married. I do expect some "maintenance" which is an enabler for me to be a part of maintaining the marriage & supporting my spouse in her ambitions as she supports mine. I also expect the Mrs., at times, to present herself as some sort of concept &/or representation of me; but as far as quidelines & routines suggested by the article. I'm looking for a fly by the seat of your pants/day to day marriage. I also expect some metaphorical wives that will eventually "get on my nerves" & then I will strongly desire to be with my preferred & actual wife, which was all I wanted to be with to start with, b4 said metaphorical wife came along.

Husbandry sure is complex.......

Oh Hell NO! Wow! This kind of stuff from the past just makes me so mad. Of course by now I hope that most men do not think this way. Sad part is I know guys that think this way still. The zeitgeist has changed for the better for the majority thankfully. We have dual working households now a days. Both parties today who are working hard to make a living are usually pooped at the end of day and so I also think how is this "preparing" oneself even going to happen most days? :P Anyways, both the man and woman need to find compromise on how they go about their sex schedules as both should be satisfied and not the way this excerpt entails.
