We were having dinner for girls night out at a great Korean Tofu House. So during our 2 hour conversation, we were talking about Vicki’s career as a social worker.

Vanae: Vicki, if you become a psychiatrist, you can write prescriptions!
Dana: No, no! You don’t want to work with people are bi-polar or those ciscos!
Vanae: Uh…you mean schizos?
Dana: (silence)

Maybe you shouldn’t publicly make light of people with serious mental health problems on a blog that is supposed to promote wellness and acceptance. Your friend’s comments suggest people with these diseases are people we might not want to be around, and your posting this conversation as a funny anecdote celebrates and supports her unthoughtful words.

bobby, let’s be real for a sec.
this post is making fun of my best friend- not of people who have mental health problems.

of all people, i’m all for mental health awareness.

but it’s good to laugh at funny moments.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Vickie is hilarious, you have a good best friend. Is that the one that got married or the other one. By the way my sister is in a hospital for some problems and I told her about this and she was cracking up!
